Happy {Almost} Valentine's Day

via
That lovey dovey holiday is almost here, and as event planners we can't help but get into it. We love celebrating every day, but put a theme to it and we're suckers for the cause. When it comes to holidays, we're not huge on over-the-top, kitschy themes. We're a lot more into subtle hints of holidays, rather than the in-your-face style. For instance, on Valentine's Day, we don't think everything has to be in a heart shape. Check out what we mean...

Host A Better Party: Fresh Flowers

Fresh flowers are an easy way to spruce up any event space. They're eye-catching, budget friendly (if you arrange them yourself or find the right florist), and they just exude the idea that you put in extra effort. Everyone will love that!

You can place them in the center of your dinner table, and/or you can add them in unexpected places. There are also so many things you can do with a flower, you don't have to put them in a vase and call it a day, people! See below for some examples...

Gorgeous color combinations. Go outside your comfort zone.

Table centerpieces... lovely and traditional, nothing wrong with that!
via

What? Flowers in the drawer of an antique chest? Precious.
via

Flowers in a teacup. Cute idea for party favors?
via

Placing a flower on the dinner plate is unexpected and adds a nice touch of color.
via

Flower in a grapefruit! 'Nuff said.
via

This one is pretty awesome, on trend, and just plain unique.
via

You can even use flowers as your escort card "holders."
via

So next time you host a party, put a bit of thought into your flowers. Get creative!

We are super busy at the office today and don't have time for a lengthy post, but we thought we'd leave you with this image that made us laugh. If only life were that simple...
